The Yamaha 67C-45371-00 sacrificial anode is an essential component in the cathodic protection of submerged or semi-immersed marine engines. It is installed in strategic areas of the engine block exposed to salt or brackish water, acting as an electrochemical barrier that absorbs galvanic corrosion that would otherwise attack critical components of iron, steel and aluminum alloys.
