Marine Engine Oils — Outboard and Inboard

Engine oil is the most critical maintenance item: it protects internal components from wear, corrosion and overheating. Marine engines run under tougher conditions than automotive ones — humidity, salt and prolonged loads — so they need oils specifically formulated for marine use.

Oils available by engine type

• Marine 4-stroke oil — for 4-stroke outboard and inboard engines. SAE 10W-30 and 25W-40 viscosities for marine use
• Marine 2-stroke oil — for 2-stroke outboards in pre-mix or oil-injection systems
• Marine diesel oil — for inboard diesels (Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Cummins, Perkins)
• Gear lube — specific for stern-drive gearcases Alpha One, Bravo, Duo Prop
• Quicksilver oil — original Mercury/Mercruiser for engines and drives

Recommended change intervals

On 4-stroke outboards: every 100 hours or 1 year. On inboard diesels: every 250 hours or 1 year. Gear lube must be changed yearly, or earlier if water shows up (milky colour). 24-48h shipping across Europe.
