Função e contexto técnico

Esta arruela do motor atua como elemento de vedação e distribuição de carga entre as superfícies metálicas do bloco do motor externo OMC, evitando vazamentos de fluidos e protegendo os componentes adjacentes contra desgaste por atrito e vibração. É integrado ao conjunto do motor como peça de vedação ou suporte em juntas roscadas ou estruturais, garantindo que a pressão de fixação seja distribuída uniformemente sem danificar as superfícies de alumínio ou aço com as quais entra em contato. A deterioração desta arruela pode resultar em vazamentos de óleo ou água, afrouxamento dos elementos de fixação e danos progressivos nas roscas ou no cabeçote, comprometendo a integridade geral do motor.

Quando substituir esta peça?

As arruelas de motores tendem a deformar, esmagar ou corroer com o tempo, especialmente em ambientes marinhos onde a exposição ao sal e os ciclos térmicos aceleram sua degradação; Os sintomas mais comuns são o aparecimento de manchas de umidade ou óleo ao redor dos pontos de fixação e perda de torque de aperto nos parafusos associados. Recomenda-se que estas arruelas sejam inspecionadas durante cada manutenção sazonal e substituídas sempre que o conjunto ao qual pertencem for desmontado, pois sua reutilização após aperto prévio pode comprometer a vedação. Trocá-lo preventivamente durante uma inspeção programada é a opção mais econômica e evita quebras por vazamentos durante a navegação.
