Stainless Steel Propeller HR Titan 3 13.9X17 Right Hand
Description
Function and Technical Context
The HR Titan 3 stainless steel propeller with three-blade geometry, 13.9 inches diameter and 17 inches pitch with right-hand rotation acts as the final drive element in outboard motors, converting engine torque into propulsive thrust on the water. Manufactured from high-strength stainless steel, the HR Titan 3 designation implies an alloy with greater surface hardness than standard aluminum propellers, which translates into greater impact tolerance with submerged objects and notably superior service life in environments with abrasive sediments, saltwater or intensive use. The right-hand rotation direction and the combination of diameter and pitch are calibrated so that the 90 to 140 HP outboard motors for which it is intended operate within the RPM range recommended by the manufacturer, optimizing cruise performance and acceleration response. A propeller with incorrect pitch or damage forces the motor to operate outside its working band, accelerating internal wear of the gearbox and propeller shaft bearings.
When to Replace This Part?
The clearest signs that the propeller requires inspection or replacement are perceptible vibrations at the stern or rudder at different speeds, the motor's inability to reach maximum RPM in neutral, a drop in top speed with no apparent cause in the engine assembly and the appearance of excessive cavitation with visible bubbling in the wake. Blades with bent edges, notches, cracks or any deformation following contact with a submerged object or the bottom should be considered grounds for immediate replacement, as even slight deformation breaks the dynamic balance of the assembly and transmits asymmetrical loads to the shaft. It is recommended to visually inspect the propeller at the beginning of each boating season and after any grounding or impact; replacing it preventively at the first structural symptom avoids failures in the gearbox or impact sleeve that are considerably more costly to manage both in port and underway.
