It works directly in the propulsion transmission system, acting as a structural stop that prevents the longitudinal displacement of the propeller hub on the shaft. If this collar degrades, cracks or loses its adjustment, the propeller can develop axial play, generating abnormal vibrations in the shaft line, premature wear of the stopper and, in extreme cases, loosening of the propulsion assembly during navigation.
