This high-pressure petrol filter is part of the fuel feeding system in injection outboard engines, where its mission is to retain particles, sediments and contaminants present in the fuel before they reach the injectors or the high-pressure pump. Working in the high pressure line, it supports the flow and pressure conditions typical of the direct injection systems of Suzuki DF four-stroke engines. A clogged or degraded filter reduces the flow of fuel to the injectors, which results in power losses, difficult starts, irregular operation during acceleration and, in extreme cases, damage to the fuel pump due to cavitation. Its periodic replacement is essential to maintain injection calibration and protect the system's high-precision components.

When to replace this part?

The most common symptoms of a high-pressure fuel filter in poor condition are: difficulty starting when cold, sudden jerks or cuts during navigation, progressive loss of power at full speed and possible activation of the engine fault light. For this type of filter in four-stroke injection engines, it is recommended that it be checked and replaced every 100 hours of use or at each annual seasonal maintenance, whichever comes first. Replacing it preventatively is the easiest and most economical way to avoid an unplanned shutdown at sea or costly damage to the injection pump.
