Function and technical context

Barnacle Buster Concentrate is a chemical cleaner specifically designed to remove limescale deposits, lime scale, rust crusts and mineralized dirt that accumulate in the seawater cooling circuits of marine engines, heat exchangers, water turbines, exhaust elbows and manifolds. It works by safely and effectively dissolving deposits without attacking soft metals or the internal joints of the system, making it a maintenance solution compatible with aluminum, copper, brass and stainless steel alloys common in outboard, inboard and semi-diesel engines. The progressive obstruction of these ducts reduces the flow of cooling water, causes engine overheating, loss of performance and can lead to serious breakdowns such as melting of impellers or deterioration of the thermostat. Its concentrated format in a 1/4 gallon container (reference TRE1206MQ) allows the exact amount to be dosed according to the volume of the circuit to be treated, optimizing product performance and reducing the cost per application.

When to use this product?

The most common symptoms that indicate the need for treatment with a circuit cleaner include: unusually high engine temperature, visible reduction in the flow of exhaust water through the cooling pilot, presence of sediment or rusty color in the engine outlet water and abnormal noises in the water pump. It is recommended to apply Barnacle Buster at least once a season as part of preventive maintenance, especially on boats that navigate in waters with a high concentration of lime or in coastal areas with seawater. Carrying out this treatment periodically prevents the formation of crusts that, if not removed in time, may require the complete disassembly of the cooling circuit, with the consequent cost in labor and parts.
