Function and technical context
The dielectric protective spray acts as an insulating and anti-corrosion barrier on all connectors, terminals, wiring and components of the boat's electrical and electronic system. Its formulation penetrates the connections, displaces humidity and creates a protective film that prevents galvanic oxidation, short circuits and insulation degradation caused by the marine environment, especially aggressive due to the constant presence of salt, humidity and thermal variations. It is an essential product for preventive maintenance of ignition systems, instrumentation, electrical panels, sensor connectors and any exposed connection point on outboard and inboard engines and boats in general. Without adequate dielectric protection, corrosion on the terminals causes intermittent starting failures, erroneous sensor readings, and electrical faults that are difficult to diagnose.
When to apply this product?
Its application is recommended whenever intervention is carried out on the boat's electrical system: when changing connectors, sensors, relays, battery terminals or any exposed terminal. Symptoms that indicate connectors need cleaning and dielectric protection include poor or intermittent starting, panel instrumentation failures, unstable tachometer or temperature readings, and wiring with visible signs of vertigo or white corrosion on the terminals. At a minimum, it is advisable to carry out a preventive application during early and late season maintenance, especially on boats that navigate in salt water. Applying this spray preventively is the most economical measure to avoid serious electrical breakdowns in navigation situations.
