Function and technical context

The Racor 220 10 micron filter element acts as a precision barrier in the fuel line of marine engines, retaining solid particles, sediment and contaminants down to 10 microns before they reach the injectors or carburetor system. It is integrated into the pre-filtration or primary fuel filtration assembly, placing itself between the tank and the feed pump to guarantee that only clean fuel circulates through the distribution circuits. A deteriorated or saturated filter element can cause restrictions in fuel flow, pressure drops in the supply line and, consequently, failures in injector atomization, progressive loss of power or unexpected engine stops while sailing. The RACR24T reference is the specific replacement for the Racor 220 assembly, maintaining the filtration and flow characteristics of the separator filter for which it was designed.

When to replace this part?

The most common symptoms of a clogged Racor element are difficulty starting when cold, jerks or interruptions in power delivery at a constant speed and, in advanced cases, activation of the pre-filter vacuum indicator if the assembly has a differential pressure gauge.
