The RAC490R2 fuel filter with integrated trap acts within the diesel feeding system of medium power marine engines, intercepting solid particles, emulsified water and sediment before they reach the injection pump and injectors. Its built-in manual bleeder allows you to eliminate air trapped in the supply line without the need for additional tools, a critical operation after emptying the tank, changing the filter itself or any intervention in the fuel circuit. The presence of contaminants or air bubbles in the high pressure line can cause starting failures, progressive loss of power, cavitation in the injection pump and even irreparable damage to the injectors. When to replace this part?

The most common symptoms that indicate that the fuel filter requires replacement are: difficulty starting when cold, drop in speed under load, black or white smoke in the exhaust and activation of fuel pressure alarms. In marine diesel systems, it is recommended to replace the filter element every 200–250 hours of navigation or at the beginning of each season if the annual use is less than that interval, paying special attention if the boat has operated with fuel of questionable quality or has remained inactive for several months.
