Function and technical context

This male union with rubber barb acts as a connection element between a threaded pipe and a section of flexible hose within the hydraulic circuits of a vessel, usually in seawater cooling systems, fuel circuits, bilge or ventilation. Made entirely of AISI 316 stainless steel, it offers resistance to marine corrosion much higher than that of carbon steel or conventional brass, being especially suitable for installations in permanent contact with salt water or high humidity environments.
