Function and technical context

The Castoldi Jet 26x22 zinc sacrificial anode acts as a cathodic protector in Castoldi water jet (hydrojet) propulsion systems, offering an electrochemical barrier that concentrates on itself the galvanic corrosion that would otherwise attack the structural metal parts of the jet. It works directly in the hydraulic propulsion system, where continuous exposure to salt, brackish or electrolytically active water generates galvanic currents capable of degrading casings, impellers and impellers in a matter of weeks. As the zinc anode is consumed in a controlled manner, it protects the most expensive and complex components of the Castoldi Jet assembly with 26x22 dimensional reference. When to replace this part?
