Bronze T-Fittings

Bronze T-fittings are three-way branch fittings that let you add a tap-off to a marine plumbing line without cutting and rejoining the main pipe. Made from machined marine-grade bronze, with parallel BSP threads from ⅜" to 1½". Ideal for cooling, fresh water, bilge and auxiliary service circuits.

What a bronze T-fitting does

A T-fitting lets you split one circuit into two branches or, conversely, merge two circuits into one. It is the typical accessory used to add a new service (shower, washer, second outlet) without rebuilding the whole installation, and it shows up in both low-pressure circuits (bilge, sump) and pressurised circuits (fresh water, cooling).

Common configurations

• Female-female-female T: three equal internal threads — the most versatile option.
• Reducing T: centre branch with smaller or larger thread than the two main legs (e.g. 1" - 1" - ½").
• Male-female T: specific combinations to bolt onto pumps or filters with male thread.

Why marine bronze

Marine-grade bronze (CuSn5Zn5Pb5 or similar) resists chloride corrosion better than standard plumbing brass and holds its geometry under small mounting stresses. Where mixed metals coexist (stainless, bronze, plastic), bronze minimises galvanic corrosion when properly bonded to the boat's common ground.

Correct installation

Hand-tight plus one turn with a wrench, no more — bronze deforms before it cracks and over-tightening is hard to detect. If you are not using one of the three branches, close it with a male plug instead of leaving it open.
