YAMAHA SEAL 93102-30M56
Description
Function and technical context
This seal is part of the Yamaha engine sealing system, sealing the critical areas where the rotating shafts pass through the aluminum casings. Its mission is to prevent the lubricant from escaping to the outside and, simultaneously, to prevent seawater from penetrating into the internal cavities of the engine. On outboard motors and stern drives, seals work under demanding conditions of vibration, salinity and temperature fluctuations. Without effective sealing, progressive oil loss, accelerated corrosion of internal components, and degradation of transmission or crankshaft performance occur.
When to replace this part?
Typical symptoms of wear on a seal include oil leaks around the drive shafts, presence of water in the crankcase, or changes in engine behavior after prolonged periods of navigation. Although there is no fixed interval, it is recommended to check the condition of the seal during each seasonal maintenance, especially after navigation in salt water or after prolonged docking. Preventative replacement prevents costly repairs due to water ingress and internal corrosion that could render critical components unusable at sea.
