The V-belt type A46 with reference 121850-42280E is part of the belt transmission system of Yanmar diesel engines of the 4LH and 4LHA series, acting as a mechanical link between the crankshaft and the fundamental accessories of the engine. Through this belt, the rotational movement is transmitted to the alternator and the seawater pump, which makes this component a critical element both for the electrical load of the system and for engine cooling. A deterioration or breakage of the transmission belt causes the immediate loss of battery charge and, what is more serious, the interruption of the coolant flow, with the consequent risk of severe overheating of the propeller.
