Description
Function and technical context
This sealing O-ring is a critical component in the cooling and lubrication circuits of high-performance outboard motors. Its mission is to hermetically seal the connection points subjected to pressure and intense thermal cycles, preventing leaks of coolant, oil and contaminated water from entering the interior of the engine. The VST (temperature synthetic viscoelastic) material allows elasticity and resistance to be maintained even under extreme temperature variations typical of prolonged sailing. A leak at these sealing points can compromise the integrity of the cooling system, causing block overheating, loss of lubrication in critical areas, and accelerated corrosion of internal components.
When to replace this part?
