Description

Function and technical context

The Multi-d Inox.new Saturn 13.30×17 propeller is the fundamental propulsion element of the marine transmission system, responsible for converting the engine power into direct movement of the boat. Mounted on the output shaft, it works in the most demanding engine environment: submerged in salt water, subjected to constant vibrations and variable hydraulic loads depending on the speed and load of the boat. Its stainless steel blade geometry and 13.30-inch diameter with a 17-inch pitch are calculated to optimize propulsive efficiency in engines between 90 and 130 hp, guaranteeing controlled acceleration and maximum sustainable speed. A failure, wear or impact on the propeller causes abnormal vibrations, drastic reduction in speed, increased fuel consumption and even progressive damage to the shaft and tail bearings.

When to replace this part?

A marine propeller requires regular visual inspection for cracks, corrosion, blade deformations or surface erosion; These defects reduce propulsive efficiency and generate vibrations that damage the tail shaft and horn. If you notice a loss of top speed, erratic behavior of the boat in a straight line or abnormal metallic noises coming from the stern area, it is a sign that the propeller needs immediate inspection or replacement. The professional recommendation is to inspect the propeller at least once a season, especially after sailing in waters with debris or rocks; Preventatively replacing a damaged propeller prevents tail shaft failure, a much more expensive and complex repair that requires maintenance in dry dock.
