Function and technical context

The marine engine descaler works by dissolving the lime deposits and mineral residues that accumulate in the ducts of the water cooling system, both in outboard and inboard engines. With continued use in hard or saline water, limescale becomes embedded in the water galleries, heat exchangers and engine blocks, reducing the coolant passage section and compromising heat evacuation. This 3.8 liter product is formulated to directly treat the cooling circuit without the need for disassembly, and its formula does not attack the engine gaskets, seals or plastic impellers of the system, allowing it to be applied in complete safety on the block assembly.

When to apply this treatment?

The main indicator of limescale in a marine engine is progressive overheating or activation of the high temperature pilot, especially in engines that usually operate in waters with high mineral content or in freshwater areas with high hardness. A decrease in the cooling water flow rate can also be observed in the engine outlet jet. It is recommended to carry out the descaling treatment at least once a season, ideally during the initial set-up or at the end of it, before wintering. Using this product preventively, without waiting for symptoms of obstruction to appear, guarantees that the cooling system works at full capacity and prevents serious breakdowns due to overheating while sailing.
