YAHAMA ZINC ANODE 67F-45371-00
Description
Function and technical context
The zinc anode is a sacrificial component that protects the metal parts of the Yamaha engine against galvanic corrosion in salt and fresh water environments. Strategically installed in the engine block and cooling systems, it preferentially corrodes in place of critical cast iron and steel components, significantly extending propellant life. Its controlled degradation prevents oxidation from advancing towards cylinders, liners and cooling ducts, preventing internal leaks and loss of sealing that would compromise the integrity of the engine.
When to replace this part?
Zinc anodes should be inspected at the end of each boating season and replaced when they have lost approximately 50% of their mass or show visible excessive corrosion. If you frequently navigate in salt water or high temperatures, preventive replacement at the beginning of each campaign is the most recommended practice to avoid costly repairs derived from internal corrosion of the engine block. Regular replacement is economical maintenance that ensures reliable operation of the cooling system and structural preservation of the propellant.
