Aluminum Propeller AMITA3 15.8X15 Right Hand
Description
Function and Technical Context
The propeller converts the torque from the output shaft into effective hydraulic thrust, being the final mechanical link between the power generated and the actual forward motion of the vessel. With a diameter of 15.8 inches and a pitch of 15 inches, this three-blade aluminum propeller in right-hand rotation geometry is designed to extract maximum performance from Suzuki outboard motors of 200 and 225 HP four-stroke, where the demand for torque at high RPM requires blade geometry capable of minimizing cavitation and hydraulic slip. The right-hand rotation configuration ensures correct thrust direction in both single-engine installations and conventional multi-engine configurations. A damaged propeller not only limits top speed, but increases fuel consumption, generates vibrations in the drivetrain and can deteriorate the rubber hub damper, transmitting harmful stresses directly to the tailshaft and water seal.
When to Replace This Part?
The clearest indicators that the propeller requires inspection or replacement are: noticeable vibrations in the hull or controls when accelerating, inability to reach the maximum RPM regime specified by the manufacturer, difficulty in achieving the navigation plane and an unjustified increase in fuel consumption under similar sea conditions. Impacts with the bottom, rocks or floating debris can cause nicks, bent blades or cavitation erosion that drastically reduce propulsive efficiency even when the engine operates within its normal parameters. It is recommended to visually inspect the propeller at the beginning and end of each boating season and replace it preventively at any sign of deformation, as operating with a damaged propeller accelerates the deterioration of the damper hub and can result in a tailshaft failure underway, with repair costs far exceeding that of a planned replacement.
