Description
The Yanmar 196420-02652 aluminum anode is an essential cathodic protection component in marine engine cooling systems. Its primary function is to electrochemically sacrifice itself to prevent galvanic corrosion in wet areas of the engine, significantly prolonging the life of internal components exposed to salt or brackish water. This anode acts as a protective barrier in the cooling circuits, preventing the accelerated degradation of metals such as cast iron and brass that make up the cooling cores and internal passages of the engine.
