YAMAHA VALVE GASKET 6G5-11382-A1

Function and technical context

The valve gasket is an essential sealing component in the Yamaha engine timing system. This piece seals the space between the valve and its seat, preventing compression leaks and guaranteeing the efficient operation of the intake and exhaust cycles. Its deterioration causes loss of compression in the cylinders, significant reduction in power and excessive fuel consumption. Working in a variable pressure and temperature environment makes its integrity critical to maintaining propellant performance.

When to replace this part?

Valve seals may show signs of aging such as progressive loss of power, difficulty starting, blue-gray smoke in the exhaust or abnormal engine vibrations. It is recommended to check the condition of the seals during each seasonal maintenance or if the propeller accumulates more than 500-600 hours of operation. Preventive replacement during winter inspections prevents unforeseen breakdowns during the navigation season and prolongs the useful life of the valve assembly.
