Description
The engine base gasket is a critical sealing component that seals the joint between the engine block and the mounting base on Mercury two-stroke outboard engines. This part prevents coolant and oil leaks in an area subject to constant pressure and vibration, ensuring the stable operation of the engine cooling and lubrication system.
This is a highly reliable replacement gasket, designed specifically for 135 to 200 hp Mercury V engines from the 1970s and 1980s, as well as the XR-4 model. Its installation requires precision in tightening to ensure uniform compression and avoid microleaks that would compromise the mechanical integrity of the engine.
