This filter acts as a protective barrier in the cooling system of Yamaha engines, preventing dirt, rust and sediment particles from accessing the fresh water circuit. It works directly in the inlet line of the cooling system, where it filters water before it reaches the heat exchanger and internal passages of the engine. Its correct operation is essential to maintain the thermal efficiency of the engine and avoid blockages that cause overheating, loss of power or, in extreme cases, irreversible damage to the gaskets and cylinders.

When to replace this part?

Cooling filters require periodic inspection and replacement when they exhibit visible sediment buildup, color changes to dark tones, or when a reduction in the flow of fresh water to the engine is observed. It is recommended to check its condition every 100 hours of operation or, at least, once at the beginning of each navigation season.
