This gasket acts as a sealing element between the fuel filter adapter and the block or support to which it is anchored, guaranteeing a hermetic seal that prevents fuel leaks into the outboard motor supply circuit. It works within the fuel supply system, a critical circuit that supplies the flow necessary for the correct air-fuel mixture in Suzuki four-stroke engines. Its deterioration directly compromises the safety and performance of the engine, since a leak in this area can cause loss of pressure in the line, difficult starts, instability in the cruising speed and even risk of fire on board.

The most common symptoms that this gasket has lost its sealing capacity are the appearance of fuel residue or stains in the filter adapter area, the smell of petrol in the engine room or in the stern, and fluctuations in engine performance associated with pressure drops in the supply line.
