Function and technical context

The propeller is the final propulsion element of the hydrodynamic transmission: it transforms engine torque into thrust, directly determining the cruising speed, acceleration response and fuel consumption of the boat. This HR Titan 3 stainless propeller has three blades made of high-resistance stainless steel, which gives it greater rigidity and durability compared to aluminum propellers, especially in conditions of demanding use or in waters with the presence of sediments and obstacles. With a diameter of 14.0 inches and a pitch of 24 inches, it is designed to work on Suzuki outboard motors, and its left-hand rotation makes it suitable for installations on counter-rotation axles or specific configurations for that direction of travel. An inadequate or damaged propeller causes cavitation, loss of thrust, vibrations in the propulsion assembly and a significant increase in consumption.

When to replace this part?

The most common symptoms that indicate that the propeller must be checked or replaced are: abnormal vibrations in the transom or in the steering handle, notable loss of maximum speed or acceleration response, and increase in engine speed without the corresponding thrust, a clear sign of cavitation due to damage to the blades. Nicks, bends or erosion on the leading and trailing edges of the blades, even if small, alter the hydrodynamic profile and reduce propulsive efficiency. It is recommended to visually inspect the propeller at each seasonal grounding and replace it if any deformation occurs, since prolonged use of a damaged propeller can transmit vibrations to the crankshaft and deteriorate the propeller shaft seal.
