Mercury Outboard Engine FourStroke 250 CXL DTS V8 CMS
Mercury FourStroke engines combine reliability, flexibility, power and efficiency. Counter-rotation version, for the port engine in twin installations.
Which boat is it for?
With 250 hp, this engine suits runabouts, opens and cabin boats of 7 to 9 metres with one engine, or 9 to 11 metres as a twin install. The right power depends on the hull: never exceed the maximum power on your boat's capacity plate.
What the 250 CXL DTS V8 CMS version means
- 25" shaft (635 mm): for transoms about 64 cm high. Measure your transom before choosing; ask us if in doubt.
- DTS digital controls: electronic throttle and shift with no mechanical cables; smooth, precise response. Requires a DTS control.
- Counter rotation: the propeller turns the opposite way. Paired with a standard-rotation engine in twin installs to balance torque and keep the boat tracking straight.
- Black colour: Mercury's classic finish; also available in Cold White.
