Description

The Mase VS 17.5 LOW is a marine diesel generating set delivering 16,2 kW of continuous AC power at 50/60 Hz / 230/240 V (single-phase). It is designed for permanent installation on board, covering the vessel’s electrical demand away from shore power: air conditioning, galley, refrigeration, battery chargers, navigation equipment and 230 V outlets.

As part of the VS variable speed series, the engine does not always run at the same speed: it adjusts its revs between 1450-2300 rpm according to the boat’s actual electrical demand. Whenever full power is not being drawn — most of the time at anchor — the result is lower fuel consumption and a lower noise level than an equivalent fixed-speed set.

Engine and cooling

It is powered by a KUBOTA V1505-E4B engine of 1498 cm³ and 4 cylinders, with indirect injection and a working speed of 1450-2300 rpm. Cooling is handled by INTERCOOLER W/A - W/W, the usual arrangement in marine installations thanks to its compactness and low vibration.

Installation on board

With dimensions of 914 × 514 × 644,5 mm and a weight of 252 kg, plan ahead for the installation space, the exhaust and seawater intake runs, and access for routine servicing (filters, raw-water pump impeller and anodes).
