Function and technical context

Blue Marine Grease is a high-consistency lubricant specifically formulated for marine environments where pressure, humidity and continuous exposure to salt water subject components to accelerated wear. It acts as a protective barrier in joints, bearings, horns, rudder shafts, tail pins and all friction points of the boat's transmission and steering. Its seawater-resistant composition prevents the penetration of moisture into metal-metal contact areas, preventing galvanic corrosion and premature seizure of critical parts. Without proper lubrication, parts such as propeller bearings, trim joint pins or tailshaft seals can deteriorate quickly, leading to costly breakdowns and unplanned stops in navigation.

When to replace or replace this fat?

The most common sign that the grease points need attention is the appearance of metallic noises, abnormal vibrations or stiffness in the steering and trim movements, symptoms indicative that the lubricant film has degraded or has been displaced by water. On boats in regular use, it is recommended to check and renew the lubrication of all service points at the beginning and end of each nautical season, as well as after prolonged navigation in rough sea conditions. Applying marine grease preventively at each seasonal maintenance is the simplest and most economical measure to extend the life of the transmission and avoid high-cost repairs on the travelift or at sea.
