Volvo Anode 3852970 CM3852970 for SX Series Outboard Engines
The Volvo 3852970 anode is a sacrificial part made of aluminum, designed to protect the internal components of Volvo Penta SX series outboard motors through galvanic corrosion. Its function is to preferentially oxidize the critical metal parts of the engine, avoiding corrosion and premature deterioration of the cooling and propulsion system.
This anode is installed in the outer tail casing and requires periodic inspection and replacement, especially in salt water or corrosive environments. Its manufacturer reference is CM3852970 and CM3852970A.
