The zinc anode is an essential passive cathodic protection component in Volvo Penta IPS propulsion systems. Its function is to electrochemically sacrifice itself to prevent galvanic corrosion on the submerged metal parts of the engine and propulsion unit, significantly extending the life of marine equipment in saline and freshwater environments.
This anode is compatible with the wide range of IPS series motors, from the most compact models to the largest displacement units, ensuring uniform protection in all integrated propulsion configurations.
