The Volvo Penta aluminum anode ref. 875821 is a cathodic protection component designed to prevent galvanic corrosion in cooling systems and submerged components of marine engines. Its main function is to be electrochemically sacrificed, thus protecting nobler metals of the marine engine and transmission against the corrosive attack of saltwater and freshwater environments.

This part is essential in Volvo Penta engines equipped with dual propulsion systems (Duoprop) and in stern drives, where continuous exposure to salt water accelerates corrosive processes. Periodic maintenance and replacement of this anode ensures the structural integrity and longevity of the marine propulsion system.
