Function and technical context

The inboard paint for Iveco engines in red is an anti-corrosion protection finish formulated specifically for metallic surfaces of marine engines for inboard use. Its main function is to preserve the integrity of the block, the cylinder head and the external components of the engine against humidity, salinity and oxidizing agents typical of the nautical environment. It acts as a physical barrier between the metal and the marine environment, preventing the formation of rust, pitting and surface deterioration that compromise both the useful life of the motor and its correct thermal dissipation. The use of a specific paint for Iveco engines guarantees correct adhesion to the block alloy, as well as resistance to the usual working temperatures in inboard engines of recreational and fishing boats.

When to apply or renew this finish?

The most obvious sign that the protective finish needs renewing is the appearance of areas of surface rust, chipping, or discoloration on the block or exterior engine components. It is recommended to check the condition of the paint during each seasonal maintenance or whenever a partial engine disassembly operation is carried out, such as changing gaskets, checking the cylinder head or replacing hoses. Applying a new layer of protective paint after workshop work not only improves the appearance of the engine, but also prevents accelerated corrosion in exposed areas, considerably extending the useful life of the mechanical assembly.
