Description

Function and technical context

This nautical coating protector acts as a protective barrier on surfaces exposed to the elements, marine humidity and atmospheric agents typical of the maritime environment. Its main function is to form a resistant layer on hulls, decks, superstructures and metal or plastic elements of the boat, preserving them against oxidation, galvanic corrosion, discoloration due to UV rays and deterioration caused by salt water. The correct application of a nautical quality protective coating is key to maintaining the structural and aesthetic integrity of the boat over time, significantly reducing long-term maintenance costs. A poor or absent coating allows moisture to penetrate porous and metallic substrates, accelerating corrosion processes that can compromise the safety of the boat and lead to costly repairs.

When to replace or reapply this product?

The most common symptoms that indicate that the protective coating has exhausted its useful life are: loss of shine or dull appearance of the treated surface, appearance of small blisters or peeling on the applied layer, onset of rust stains or localized discoloration, and loss of the water repellency characteristic of this type of product. As a general rule, it is recommended to inspect the condition of the coating at the beginning and end of each nautical season, and to reapply whenever the symptoms described are detected or after beaching and intensive cleaning of the hull. Preventatively treating surfaces before obvious signs of deterioration appear is the most effective way to avoid more complex and expensive restoration work during the boating season.
