Function and technical context

The hull cleaner in gel spray format acts directly on the underside of the boat, dissolving and eliminating organic deposits such as algae, mussels, barnacles, slime and other marine incrustations that adhere to the submerged surface of the hull. Unlike conventional liquid cleaners, the gel texture allows the product to adhere to the vertical and inclined surfaces of the hull without dripping, prolonging contact time and increasing degreasing and descaling effectiveness. Keeping the hull free of biofouling is essential not only for the aesthetics of the boat, but also to preserve hydrodynamic performance: a layer of fouling can significantly increase drag, increase fuel consumption and reduce maximum speed. Its periodic use also facilitates beaching and antifouling painting tasks, preparing the surface correctly to receive new protective treatments.

When to use this product?

It is recommended to apply the gel hull cleaner at least in each seasonal stranding, although in areas with high marine biological activity - such as estuaries, Mediterranean marinas in summer or warm waters - an intermediate treatment may be necessary to prevent the incrustations from gaining thickness and becoming more difficult to remove. Symptoms that indicate the need for urgent cleaning are a visible loss of cruising speed, an increase in fuel consumption without apparent mechanical cause or the visible presence of slime and organisms in the waterline. Professional advice is not to wait for the annual stranding if these signs are detected: act with the gel cleaner before the scale mineralizes to avoid damaging the gel coat or antifouling paint during subsequent mechanical scraping.
