Hull plate anodes are cathodic protection elements that are installed directly on the vessel's hull to prevent galvanic corrosion on submerged metal surfaces. They act as a sacrificial metal, degrading in a controlled manner to protect the hull, propeller, shafts and other metal components of the boat against the corrosive action of salt or brackish water. Without adequate anodic protection, electrolytic corrosion can rapidly deteriorate the hull and metal accessories, generating serious structural damage and costly shipyard repairs. When to replace this part?
