Description

Function and technical context

10W30 synthetic marine oil is the lubrication fluid that protects the internal components of the outboard or inboard engine against frictional wear, oxidation and corrosion in high salinity and humidity environments. It acts in the engine lubrication system, forming a protective film between pistons, liners, crankshaft and camshaft, reducing friction and dissipating the heat generated during combustion. The 10W30 multigrade viscosity ensures smooth cold starting and stable protection at full load and operating temperature, which is especially critical in marine engines operating under prolonged and constant loads. The 20-liter format responds to the needs of fleets, nautical workshops and boats with large displacement engines that require frequent oil changes or high volumes. Using an inadequate or degraded lubricant causes premature wear of the piston groups, possible seizure and a significant reduction in the useful life of the engine.

When to replace this oil?

The main indicators that the marine oil has reached the limit of its useful life are the dark or blackened color of the fluid, the presence of foam or metallic particles on the sight glass or on the bayonet, the increase in the engine's working temperature and the oil pressure light coming on. In four-stroke marine engines, the usual change interval ranges between 50 and 100 hours of navigation, or at the beginning of each season if the accumulated hours are less, given that combustion acids and humidity degrade the lubricant even in rarely used engines. Changing the oil preventively, before storing the boat for the winter or at the beginning of the fishing and recreational season, is the most effective measure to avoid costly breakdowns and prolong the life of the engine.
