This elbow gasket acts as a sealing element at the turbine outlet of the water-mixed exhaust system of Yanmar 4LH series marine diesel engines. Its mission is to seal the joint between the mixing elbow and the gas outlet duct, preventing hot gas leaks and ensuring that the cooling water mixes correctly with the exhaust gases before being expelled outside. A deterioration or breakage of this gasket can cause gas leaks in the engine compartment, loss of efficiency in the wet exhaust system and, in serious cases, humidity ingress or water returning to the engine.
