Function and technical context

The diesel stabilizer acts directly on the fuel stored in the tank, inhibiting the oxidation and degradation processes that affect the diesel during periods of prolonged inactivity of the vessel. It works within the fuel supply system, protecting it from the tank to the injectors and the high pressure pump. Diesel degradation generates varnish deposits, sediments and organic acids that clog filters, damage seals and contaminate the injection system. Keeping the fuel stabilized is especially critical on vessels that remain moored for weeks or months, since modern diesel containing biodiesel (FAME) degrades much more quickly than conventional fuel. The 946 ml format (equivalent to a US quart) allows large volumes of fuel to be treated with a single application, adapting to the tanks of recreational and work boats.

When to use this product?

The use of the diesel stabilizer is especially recommended before any period of hibernation or inactivity of more than 30 days, at which time the stored fuel begins to lose stability and generate microorganisms and sludge at the bottom of the tank. Symptoms of degraded fuel include difficult starting after winter, black or blue exhaust smoke, loss of power under load, dirty injectors and prematurely clogged fuel filters. As a professional preventive guideline, it is recommended to add the stabilizer at each seasonal filling or at least when performing the winter lay-up; Treating the fuel in the tank before symptoms appear avoids costly cleaning of the injection system and filter replacements at the most inopportune moment.
