This 12 mm polyamide union acts as a connecting element between sections of hose or rigid pipes within the fluid circuits of marine engines, being especially common in water cooling systems, fuel circuits and drain or ventilation ducts. Its construction in high-resistance technical plastic (polyamide) gives it notable tolerance to the chemical agents present in these circuits—seawater, fuel, coolants—as well as superior durability against the continuous vibration typical of the marine environment. A deteriorated, cracked or leak-tight connection can cause leaks in the corresponding circuit, with consequences ranging from the gradual loss of coolant to the entry of water into critical areas of the engine, compromising its safe operation. When to replace this part?

The most common symptoms of a plastic splice in poor condition are the appearance of moisture or stains at the ends of the joint, visible microcracks in the body of the connector - especially after wintering with freeze and thaw cycles - and loss of rigidity or deformation of the plastic due to thermal aging.
