Function and technical context

Star brite STA85900 Non-Slip Deck Cleaner is specifically formulated to target the textured and embossed surfaces that make up boat decks, where embedded dirt, algae, salt and organic debris lodge in the pores and grooves of the non-slip material. Its composition free of harmful chemical agents allows it to be used safely on board without damaging fiberglass, GRP surfaces or deck finishes treated with wax or polish. When cleaning, it deposits a protective layer that acts as a repellent barrier against the reaccumulation of dirt and stains, prolonging the clean effect between applications. It is especially useful in passage and work areas on board where the effectiveness of the anti-slip is critical for the safety of the crew.

When to apply this product?

The non-slip cover should be cleaned when there is a visible loss of traction underfoot, the presence of greenish or blackish biofilm in the grooves of the texture, or fuel, oil and marine dirt stains that do not disappear with pressurized water. Its use is recommended as part of season maintenance, both at the beginning and at the end of the season, and periodically during the season in vessels with intensive use or anchored in areas with high algae proliferation. Keeping the non-slip deck in good condition is not just an aesthetic issue: a slippery surface on board represents a real risk of accident, so regular preventive cleaning is the most effective and economical measure against falls and damage to the deck.
