BUFF MAGIC PAD DISC 6 1/2 2 pcs.
Description
Function and technical context
The Buff Magic Pad 6½ Inch Disc is a professional polishing and buffing accessory designed for surface maintenance work on hulls, decks and fiberglass, gel coat, metal and nautical paint surfaces. Its use is part of the external maintenance tasks of the boat, where the correct preparation and conservation of the surfaces is essential to protect the material against marine corrosion, oxidation and deterioration caused by continuous exposure to salt water and UV radiation. Used with an orbital or rotary polisher, this type of disc allows the polishing compounds and protective waxes to be distributed evenly, guaranteeing a uniform finish without marks or scratches. The quality of the pad directly affects the final result of the treatment: a disc in poor condition can cause uneven polishing, damage the gel coat or reduce the effectiveness of the applied product.
When to replace this part?
Buff pad polishing discs wear out with continued use: when the foam or fabric shows deformations, crushed areas, tears or loss of density, the disc no longer exerts the correct pressure on the surface and the polishing result becomes irregular. It is recommended to check the condition of the pads at the beginning of each nautical season and replace them if they show obvious signs of wear, or after a high number of hours of work with a polisher. Keeping a spare pair of discs on board or in the workshop ensures that seasonal maintenance can be completed without interruption and without compromising hull protection.
