Function and technical context

This plate anode for Chrysler engines acts as a sacrificial electrode within the vessel's galvanic protection system, absorbing electrolytic corrosion that would otherwise attack the metal surfaces of the engine and hull. Made of zinc (ZN), it is especially suitable for use in salt and brackish water, where electrical conductivity favors galvanic corrosion processes. With dimensions of 123x36 mm, this plate anode is installed directly on the tail or outer casing of the Chrysler engine, offering an efficient and well-sized sacrificial surface for the protection of the drive assembly. Do not wait for the anode to be completely consumed: a depleted anode leaves the motor unprotected and can lead to very expensive repairs.
