YAHAMA ANODE 67F-11325-01
Description
Function and technical context
The sacrificial anode is an essential cathodic protection component in Yamaha marine engines that acts within the cooling circuit and in areas of direct contact with water. This element corrodes in a controlled manner in place of the critical metal parts of the propellant, absorbing the electrochemical action of contaminated salt water and fresh water. Its progressive wear prevents galvanic corrosion from attacking the engine block, internal cooling galleries and exposed metal surfaces, preserving the structural and functional integrity of the propulsion equipment throughout the navigation season.
When to replace this part?
The anode should be replaced when it has lost 50-75% of its mass, or at the end of each active boating season if it has been subjected to heavy saltwater use. Signs of degradation include visible reduction in size, formation of surface cracks, or separation of the fixing core. Annual or semi-annual preventive replacement, depending on the salinity of the water and frequency of use, avoids costly repairs due to internal corrosion of the motor and ensures that the cathodic protection is continuous and effective.
