Function and technical context
The Multi-e ALUM.AMITA3 15X15 propeller is the direct propulsion element of the outboard motor, responsible for transforming the rotating power of the crankshaft into thrust that moves the boat. This propeller operates in the engine transmission system, coupled to the output shaft through an elastic hub connection that absorbs vibrations and protects the internal mechanism. Its cast aluminum design offers a balanced relationship between weight and resistance to marine corrosion, being especially critical in vessels that operate in salt waters where degradation due to oxidation is constant.
When to replace this part?
The propeller must be replaced when it shows visible damage such as cracks, deformations in the blades, loss of material due to advanced marine corrosion or wear in the coupling area to the shaft. If during navigation you notice abnormal vibration, loss of traction or metallic noises coming from the propulsion system, it is likely that the propeller has suffered structural damage. It is advisable to check the condition of the propeller at the beginning of each navigation season and, in intensive use, carry out an inspection every 200-300 hours of operation; Replacing it preventively before a long journey avoids being left without propulsion in adverse conditions.
