Function and technical context
75W90 synthetic transmission oil acts as a lubricant and protective agent within gearboxes, Z-drives or sterndrives, ensuring gears, bearings and metal surfaces work with the least possible friction. Operating in the transmission system of a vessel, this synthetic lubricant withstands the high shear loads generated during gear changes and acceleration maneuvers, maintaining a stable protective film even under demanding working conditions in marine environments. The 75W90 formulation provides a multigraded behavior that facilitates cold starting and ensures adequate viscosity at working temperature, avoiding premature gear wear and extending the useful life of the transmission assembly. A degraded or inadequate transmission lubricant can cause abnormal noises in the box, difficulty changing gears, excessive heating of the group and, in the most serious cases, seizure of the gears with consequent major damage to the transmission.
