The NGK BR6EF spark plug is part of the outboard motor's ignition system, being the final element responsible for generating the electrical spark that ignites the air-fuel mixture inside the combustion chamber. Its correct operation ensures that each ignition cycle occurs at the precise moment, which directly translates into complete combustion, fuel efficiency and constant power delivery to the propeller shaft. In the marine environment, spark plugs are subjected to particularly demanding conditions: high humidity, extreme thermal cycles and continuous vibrations that accelerate the wear of the electrode and ceramic insulator. A failure in this component can cause misfires, notable loss of power, irregular fuel consumption and even the inability to start the engine in critical navigation situations.

When to replace this part?
