The Volvo 3888305 Aluminum Anode is a cathodic protection component designed specifically for Volvo Penta marine engine cooling systems. It works as a sacrificial electrochemical barrier against galvanic corrosion in salt water circuits, preventing the premature deterioration of noble metals in pumps, heat exchangers and internal motor passages. This anode is installed in the water intake or in the cooling line, where it is gradually consumed, protecting critical components of the cooling system.

Periodic replacement of this anode is essential to maintain the structural integrity of the engine during marine navigation and ensure optimal operation in saltwater conditions.
