ANTIFOULING HARD MATRIX TRITON WHITE 2.5L
Description
Function and technical context
Triton hard matrix antifouling in white acts as a chemical and physical barrier on the hull of the boat, preventing the adhesion and proliferation of encrusting marine organisms such as algae, barnacles, mussels and other biofouling. Being a hard matrix formulation, the paint film does not erode with water, but rather releases the active biocides in a controlled manner throughout the season, keeping the hull clean and smooth. This technology is especially suitable for boats that remain in the water for a long time or that navigate at medium-high speeds where mechanical abrasion of the bottom is minimal. A hull without adequate antifouling protection quickly accumulates biological fouling that increases drag, increases fuel consumption and can damage cooling systems by taking in seawater.
When to apply or renew this antifouling?
The most obvious sign that antifouling protection has exhausted its effectiveness is the appearance of visible fouling on the hull after the first half of the season, or a noticeable loss of cruising speed without apparent mechanical cause. On boats that are docked annually, it is recommended to lightly sand the hull, apply an adhesion primer if necessary and renew the hard matrix antifouling layer before each launch, respecting the number of coats indicated by the manufacturer. Applying the treatment preventively at each seasonal grounding is the most efficient practice to protect the gelcoat or steel of the hull and avoid high costs for underwater cleaning or structural repairs due to prolonged biofouling.
