STA88708) is a hydrophobic treatment specifically formulated for boat glass surfaces, whether windshields, side windows or clear plastic and glass bulkheads. Its function is to create an ultra-thin film on the glass that drastically reduces the surface tension of water, making rain, sea spray and humidity slide off naturally without the need for mechanical action. Unlike conventional windshield wipers, this product acts preventively on the treated surface, improving visibility in adverse sea conditions even when the windshield wiper is not in operation. Good visibility from the bridge is a critical factor in active safety in navigation, and the deterioration of this capacity—due to the accumulation of water, salt or dirt—directly compromises the safety of the crew and the vessel.

When to reapply this product?

The most obvious sign that the protection has lost effectiveness is that the water stops slipping spontaneously and begins to form drops that adhere to the glass, reducing visibility. Likewise, if the windshield presents a persistent haze or fogging after rain or rubbing with seawater, it indicates that the hydrophobic layer has been used up. Under conditions of regular use, a correct application can last several months, although in frequent navigation or in environments with high exposure to saltpeter it is recommended to review the performance at the beginning of each nautical season and reapply as soon as the first loss of repellency is detected. Application instructions

Clean and dry the surface completely before applying the product. Pour a small amount onto a clean cloth and apply firmly over the entire surface using circular movements. If necessary, soak the cloth again. Let the thin film dry before applying a second coat to ensure complete coverage. Once the film from the second application has disappeared, clean the surface with a slightly damp cloth and then rub with a dry, clean cloth until you obtain a completely transparent and streak-free finish. Reapply at the first sign of loss of performance.
